Time Limit On Sexual Harassment Complaints?

Question:

How long a time do you have to report harassment to your employer for it to be upheld?

Signed,

On a Timeline

Answer:

DearĀ On a Timeline:

Your employer may have some specific guideline for reporting various problems. However, the EEOC has a 180 day time limit for most reporting to them. Some states also have time limits, and those may be less or more than 180 days.

Employers may choose to use those same guidelines or may say that there is no time limit.

I hope whatever situation you are in, that it can be resolved fairly and appropriately.

Best wishes to you.
